River Floats
with Buffalo Mountain Adventures
The river float trip is offered Saturday, 10:30am-2:30pm. Lunch provided with your trip.
Pick up at 10:30am on Saturday. Please meet at 10am at the Buffalo Mountain Adventures booth in the Pine Grove.
Should be back by 3pm Saturday
Life jackets and oars provided.
Patrons should wear clothes and footwear that can get wet (quick dry).
Rooster Walk 13 admission tickets required to participate.

- Single Kayak ($50)
- Tandem Kayak ($75)
- SUP ($75).
Half-Day Guided Fly Fishing Float Trip on the Smith River
with Smith River Outfitters
Saturday, May 27, between 9am and 3pm.
$420 for 1-2 people for 4-5 hours (covering roughly 3 miles of river)
Once you purchase, we will connect you directly with the guide to schedule the time that works best for you.
Have you ever wanted to try fly fishing for some brown trout on the Smith River but don’t know where the best spots are? EJ Stern and his team of expert fishing guides are here to help provide the best fishing experience possible.
The Smith River is known to many as Virginia’s best trout river.
All tackle, snacks, drinks, and transportation to and from Rooster Walk are provided. Clients can stay dry for the float or get wet and wade if they choose (no waders necessary).
All ages and abilities welcome!
“Rooster Struts” (Guided Hikes)
Buffalo Mountain Adventures will lead FREE guided hikes on the Pop’s Farm venue. Times and meet up locations TBD.
Brewery Bike Ride
Henry County Bike Club leads the 20-mile round trip bike ride on Saturday at 10:30am. You start and end at Pop’s Farm with a rest stop at our local brewery, Mountain Valley Brewing. Sign up at the Buffalo Mountain Adventures booth in the Gear Grove.
Pedal Boats
Reserve a spot at the Pedal Boat booth with Captain Larry (located on the Venue Map). CASH ONLY. $15 for 30 minutes. PFDs provided and required. No swimming in pond. No alcohol on boats.
